However, I am glad to say I managed to fix the problem (I think) - I usually use my front case's USB ports and I figured why not try the back one to see if it works and to my surprise - it did! no latency error in DS4Windows, no yellow error triangle on the DS4's sound driver in Device Manager and controller seems to work great.
